This Folly Beach cantina serves creative Mexican street eats and also allows you to bring your dog for seating on their cute outdoor deck! It is also a great choice for Margaritas!

3. Rita’s Seaside Grille
This well-known dog-friendly seaside grille on Folly Beach serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wings! They also frequently have live music that you can enjoy with your dog in their outdoor seating area.

4. Lost Dog Café
It’s a breakfast and lunch only café just a couple blocks from the ocean that is all about dogs and is dog-friendly! You’ll instantly fall in love with the decor of framed Charleston dogs that cover every inch of the wall. They are known for their amazing brunches, but make sure to come early on weekends to avoid long wait times. It’s that good!

5. Smoky Oak Taproom
Stop in to chow down on some of the best BBQ in Charleston. This James Island taproom has 40+ beers on tap, an awesome outdoor covered seating area with games and you can bring along your dog!

6. Blues Cajun Kitchen
If you want some awesome New Orleans style seafood or a juicy burger, bring your dog out to the delicious Blues Cajun Kitchen! They are a locally owned, family and dog-friendly restaurant with a cool outdoor bar, patio, and deck. You can catch the game on their outdoor TV while enjoying anything from etouffee to cajun fried seafood.

7. Bohemian Bull
Upscale bar food, including brisket and burgers, join craft beer & bourbon in this funky, plank-walled pub. They have one of the best outdoor dog-friendly seating areas on James Island, complete with cornhole, a bocce ball court, and a fire pit. Stop in for happy hour, dinner, or brunch on Sundays! We highly recommend the shrimp and grits if you’re there for brunch!

8. Ellis Creek Fish Camp
Located at the site of the old Boathouse on Ellis Creek, the casual camp-like setting consists of indoor seating as well as outdoor picnic tables, booths and other seating overlooking the marsh and creek. You can enjoy some serene views at this dog-friendly restaurant while munching on some southern fare ranging from an oyster po-boy to fish tacos, or seafood plates.

This rustic-chic James Island gastropub serves lunch, dinner & brunch with tap beers amid reclaimed wood & art. Their dog-friendly patio is a hotspot on weekends where you can enjoy burgers, flatbreads and other yummy bar fare.

10. The Barrel
This dog-friendly bar on the edge of Secessionville Creek is a hot-spot for dog and beer lovers. They usually have local food trucks on site for tasty meals, live bands, shuffleboard and cornhole for your entertainment. The Barrel does have a fenced area for dogs, as well as a larger “waterfront backyard”, but make sure to watch your dog at all times if you allow them off-leash.
