Homemade Crunchy Tuna Cat Treats

crunchy-cat-treats-DS41Our kitties need some yummy treats, too!  This recipe is quite basic – just mix and bake – and it is filled with cat favorites.

  • 1 (5 oz) can tuna, no salt added and packed in water, drained
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 heaping tablespoon dried catnip

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with some parchment paper for your treats.  Add your drained tuna, oat flour, egg, olive oil and catnip together in a food processor and then blend until smooth, but thick.  Roll the dough into 1/2 teaspoon balls and put on your baking sheet.  Use a skewer or edge of a fork to press an X into each treat ball.  Bake the treats for 10 to 12 minutes until they are dried on tip and slightly browned.  Let them cool completely and then you’ve got some delicious treats for your kitty!  You can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
